Pierrasse is located in Occitany (South of France), in the Aveyron department, 25 km away from Millau.
The house stands in the middle of the Grands Causses Nature Preserve and its multifacetted landscapes:
endless steppe on the causse Méjan, semidesert on the Larzac, Mediterranean forests on the Causse Noir, surprising rock formations on the Causse de Sauveterre.
Pierrasse is located right here, close to the plateau's cliff.
The estate perfectly fits in its natural surroundings made of a garden, fields and woods.
Pierrasse is thus tailored to your needs if you are in search of a quiet location:
the distance to the next neighbour is 900 meters; the next village is 6 kilometers away.
Children in particular appreciate this exceptional location amidst nature. Pets also do — and they are welcome in Pierrasse.
Many trees grow around the house, so that it is conceiled during the summer (pictures taken in the spring).
The Causses are vast plateaus between Earth and sky. Rivers dug deep canyons between them over millions of years.
The watercourses and their cliffs offer excellent leisure-time opportunies:
swiming in crystal-clear water, canoeing down the stream, climbing, mountaineering, paragliding.
You will also find various tennis courts and horse-riding opportunies in the neighbourhood.
Last but not least, two mountain bikes are at your disposal free of charge at Pierrasse (maybe you should pump air), and you can go hiking directly from the house!
Altitude temperates the South French heat: on a beautiful summer day, the air may be hot in the valley, but very pleasant in Pierrasse (altitude: 800 m).
Pierrasse was built in natural stones and includes the following structures:
late-18th-century main building with limestone roof covering over a vault;
more recent extension that shelters the kitchen, two bedrooms and the bathroom;
barn (not accessible to tenants) and traditional bread oven.
The dry-stone walls that surround the garden used to fence a pen for sheeps and goats. Now, they mark the limits of the carpark where your vehicle waits for you in the cooling shade of nuts and ashes.
Two exterior spaces complement the interior floor area (110 sqm):
one shady terrasse with garden furniture for your lunch, and one south terrace with deckchairs and natural stone flooring for quiet sun bathing.
The rooms are as follows:
Vaulted living room with a chimney
In this interior with an authentic touch, you will appreciate playing games in the evening or having dinner with your family or friends.
Do you like the Vintage style?
Vast kitchen
This exceptionally high room features modern kitchen equipment, including a refrigerator, a dishwasher and a stove with roasting jack.
What about a home-made rotisserie chicken today evening? The menu matters little, anyway, as cooking is always a real pleasure in Pierrasse.
Bathroom
The bathroom with shower located in the youngest part of the house evidences that modern design is perfectly suitable to create a surprising contrast in a traditional structure.
Three bedrooms
Each of Pierrasse's three bedrooms has a particular asset:
the vaulted mezzanine bedroom will surprise you with its decoration that integrates kitsch gifts made to the German Foreign Office (!);
the attic bedroom features a beautiful rug and a window that opens on the south terrasse;
the children bedroom, equipped with bunk beds, will be a welcomed resting place for the small ones after a day filled with adventures in the nature.

Basement
Pierrasse is built on a slope, so that the basement is located... on the ground floor. (For the same reason, this also applies to the "first floor".)
The washing machine that stands in the basement will simplify your holiday.
Pierrasse is not a luxury villa but a rustic, traditional house with the charm of authenticity.
Be sure that you will enjoy your stay if you are looking for an absolutely peaceful location in wonderful natural settings
— and if you intend to seize the many opportunities of one of France's major tourist attractions: the Tarn Canyon.
When you want to "go back to civilisation", you just need to drive ten kilometers down a scenic road
to the shops and restaurants of the valley, where you can discover the legendary Aveyron country cuisine.
Severac-le-Château, its castle and medieval streets, are just within a twenty minutes' drive.
And within half an hour, you can reach Millau, the "European capital of extreme nature sports", where you will appreciate museums and the old town's Mediterrean atmosphere.
Just two questions to the end:
Have you ever "heard" the silence of a summer night?
Or appreciated the infinity of the sky with the Milky Way clearly visible due to the absence of light pollution?
This — and many more — is waiting for you at Pierrasse.
